Guess who has finally decided to publish a post.

As mentioned in the previous edition of davidgoestolondon, I was away settling some issues. These issues took longer than expected, as a result of some unforeseen circumstances (read laziness). But alas, here I am, blogging with gusto like you've never seen before!! Yea right.

Before the barrage of food photos, here are some of the sights (non-culinary sights, mind you) that I did manage to capture during the last few weeks in london.

I burst out laughing upon seeing this.

Newman House, where I go for mass every Sunday. The Chapel and the entrance.

Travis concert. Awesome.

Notice the clear blue skies overlooking the not so clear brown waters of the Thames.

Another photo of the sky - during sunset. We rarely get such skies in London.

And now, for the food photos:

Tea-time at Paul's. The hot chocolate was unlike any other hot chocolate I have tasted in London - rich, thick, smooth and very chocolaty. Tasted almost like pure melted chocolate. Then there was the bread basket, quiche, chocolate torte with ice cream and the macaroons.

Nasi Goreng from C&R. Fairly Authentic I must say, just that I hate fried eggs.

Belgian Chocolate Hazlenut Cream Crunch crepe from the Kensington Creperie. Not many people know that the Kensington creperie is a branch of the creperie at Hampstead. While the Kensington one is more accessible, the one in Hampstead has a prettier setting. Also, eating such a crepe on a cold wintry night is more enjoyable than eating it besides the unbearable heat of the stove.

The Indian meal at Mela. Had Butter Paneer, Chicken Tikka, Pilau and Garlic Naan. The Naan wasa a fail, otherwise the food was of rather high quality. And the desserts - Gulab Jamun with ice cream and a Kufli - were really sweet (in both senses of the word)

A Filipino meal, consisting of Garlic rice, Beef Stew in Penut sauce and Prawns in a coconut Gravy. Steep prices, but as a half FIlipino myself, I must say the food was authentic and on the whole, the meal was a little too filling, but hugely satisfying.

Very well then, this is the final post of the academic year 2006/07. Thank you for your kind patronage, and I leave you with one last photo:

From Heathrow, while I was waiting for the elevator. Let's just say that I couldn't bear to leave London, and I can't bear to leave you guys waiting for my next post. But I guess I will only be back in the next academic year, which isn't very far away if you think about it. Farewell then, my dear faithful readers.

Cheers.
